Relive the 2006 meeting with photographs and general session speeches.
The NWP Annual Meeting provides a venue for teacher-leaders from writing project sites to learn from each other and become familiar with national trends and issues that affect the teaching of writing.
This year there will be more than 60 interactive site development and technology liaison workshops–all conducted by writing project directors, site leaders, and teacher-consultants.
Transportation Information
NWP shuttle buses to the Airport Marriott begin from the pick-up point at Opryland at the Presidential Portico (Level 2) at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday and Friday. These shuttle buses will run regularly until 8:00 p.m. Shuttles will depart the Marriott and Opryland every 30 minutes on the hour and half-hour, with additional buses at peak periods.
NWP shuttle buses between the Airport Marriott and Willis Conference Center will run from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday; and from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday. There is no NWP shuttle bus service for other hotels.
NWP Central
The National Writing Project welcomes all Annual Meeting participants to visit NWP Central in the foyer of the Nashville Airport Marriott on Thursday and Friday. Sign in and post a dot on the map for your site. Pick up a meeting packet and a nametag. At NWP Central you can also collect national program information, buy NWP books and T-shirts, and meet up with your colleagues.
Hours: Thursday and Friday, 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (sales table open until 7:00 p.m.)
NWP Booth at NCTE
Opryland Convention Center, Ryman Exhibit Hall, Space No. 210-212
Be sure to stop by the Ryman Exhibit Hall at the Opryland Convention Center and visit the NWP exhibit booth at this year’s NCTE Convention. NWP staff and local teacher-consultants will be on hand to provide information about writing project programs. The booth will also feature a game, publications, and materials from NWP and local writing project sites.
Hours: Friday, noon-6:00 p.m.; Saturday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; Sunday, 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
