2007 Writing and Technology: A Professional Writing Retreat
July 25–29, 2007
Lied Lodge and Conference Center
Nebraska City, Nebraska
If you're experimenting with writing and technology in your classroom or at your writing project site and have a good story to tell about your successes and challenges, then come to this retreat and write about your professional practices.
The retreat offers
- time to reflect on and write about teaching practices involving writing and technology
- a supportive writing and technology-friendly community in which to develop and refine professional writing
- encouragement for those who wish to write, publish, and distribute in digital formats
- knowledge and experience to help participants promote professional writing at their sites and make visible the goals and beliefs of the National Writing Project.
The retreat is designed to accommodate writers at any level in their development. Teachers become part of a community of writers by participating in small groups where they can share their writing. On-site writing coaches and editors provide further support. In the end, participants have the opportunity to develop pieces for a wide variety of audiences and publications, both print and online.
Please note: Teams will be considered but please see the application overview for details.
