Come kick off the writing project's 30th anniversary with colleagues from across the country, and pay tribute to three decades of success and the thousands of teachers who made it possible. Held in conjunction with the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Annual Convention, the NWP Annual Meeting includes interactive workshop sessions, roundtable discussions, and demonstrations of successful practice, all conducted by writing project directors, site leaders, and teacher-consultants. Unless otherwise noted, all events will be held at the San Francisco Marriott.

Thursday, November 20: Pre-Meeting Workshops
Morning and afternoon rounds of in-depth workshops focus on the core work of writing project sites, in addition to special workshops for NWP technology liaisons.
All participants are also invited to a Thursday evening reception hosted by the NWP English Language Learners Network.
Friday, November 21: NWP Annual Meeting Friday is the official start of the NWP Annual Meeting, with a general session in the morning and three rounds of sessions in the afternoon. An early evening celebratory reception is a great opportunity to relax and network with writing project colleagues from across the country. Friday's events do not require registration and are open to all.

Saturday, November 22: Leadership Meetings, Strand at NCTE
Saturday is set aside for NWP program and network leadership team meetings. Concurrently, a special all-day strand of writing workshops will be conducted at the NCTE convention by writing project teacher leaders.The Rural Sites Network will also be hosting a buffet breakfast; all are welcome.

Meeting Features

NWP Central NWP welcomes all annual meeting participants to visit NWP Central in Salons 10 and 11 on the Yerba Buena Level. Sign the 30th Anniversary guest book and post a pin on the map for your site! Pick up a packet and nametag, collect national program information, browse the books and T-shirts table, and meet up with your colleagues.
Exhibit Booth Drop by the Moscone Center West and check out the NWP exhibit booth at the NCTE Convention, which will feature a special giveaway packet and a tantalizing game to test participants' knowledge of 19th and 20th century literature!
Authors! Display Your Book at the Annual Meeting NWP directors and teacher-leaders who have authored or edited books or chapters of books this year are invited to share their publications with their colleagues at the NWP Annual Meeting.

Hotel and Registration Information

Reservations are now closed As always, the meeting is held in conjunction with the NCTE Annual Convention, and hotel reservations must be made through NCTE. We also encourage you to register for the NCTE convention.
