NWP Radio: Parents as Partners in Literacy Education

With the new school year upon us, two new books by Writing Project colleagues push us to think anew about the role that families can play in powerful literacy education.

Join as as we hear from Lynne Strieb, author of Inviting Families Into the Classroom: Learning from a Life in Teaching, and from JoBeth Allen, author of Literacy in the Welcoming Classroom: Creating Family-School Partnerships That Support Student Learning. Also joining will be teachers Andrea Neher and Chris Hansen, whose work with parents is featured in Allen's book.
