NWP Radio—Interconnections: Understanding Systems through Digital Design
October 23, 2014
On this episode of NWP Radio, we will celebrate the launch of a new curriculum series called, Interconnections: Understanding Systems Through Digital Design, developed collaboratively by designers and educators from the National Writing Project alongside colleagues from Indiana University's Creativity Labs , the Institute of Play
, and the Digital Youth Network
. In an era of increasing interconnectedness, knowledge—and power—belongs to those who understand the nature of the interdependent systems that organize the world—and have the skills to change those systems. Each book therefore teaches and includes a range of design challenges and learning projects that support systems-thinking concepts across disciplines, and are linked to youth interests in digital culture. During this show we will highlight some possibilities of this exciting and remixable curriculum while also sharing the history and philosophy of its co-design and development.
- When: Thursday, October 23, 4:00 p.m. PDT/7:00 p.m. EDT
