While their students are enjoying summer fun in the sun, local teachers are spending four weeks studying teaching strategies that improve the way students of all ages write and learn. These teachers received a coveted invitation to participate in a National Writing Project (NWP) Summer Institute. Working to improve student writing by participating in the summer institute at Mississippi State University Writing/Thinking Project (MSU Project) in Starkville are James Comans, an English teacher at Louisville High School; Susan Newton, a third grade teacher at Eupora Elementary School; and Teresa Morton, a third grade teacher at Eupora Elementary School.
