NWP, Local Sites to Exhibit at ASCD Convention
By: NWP Staff
Publication:
The Voice, Vol. 9, No. 1
Date: 2004
The National Writing Project and several of its Louisiana-based sites will host an exhibit booth at the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development's (ASCD) 59th Annual Conference and Exhibit Show, March 20–22, 2004, in New Orleans. This is the first year NWP will take part in the ASCD event, part of NWP's continuing effort to increase national visibility and remind educators and the general public of the important role writing should play in the education of our young people.
With more than 12,000 principals, teachers, administrators, and curriculum specialists expected to attend, the event provides a prime forum for NWP to reach out to educators unfamiliar with the writing project and, in particular, to feature Because Writing Matters: Improving Student Writing in Our Schools—a resource developed specifically for this type of audience. Representatives from Louisiana's five local sites will participate as well, providing information to visitors about local programming.
Anyone interested in visiting the writing project's exhibit at ASCD is encouraged to do so. NWP will be located in booth number 1635-37 in New Orleans' Morial Convention Center. For more information, contact NWP Staff.
