If you're going to do a classic activity like read the book or watch the movie to look at literary adaptations, you can't just use a snippet—you have to use the whole thing. That's why Section 110 is a really valuable part of the law but is really narrow. It specifies that it needs to be in a face-to-face setting. Lots of us doing various online education aren't really working face-to-face but are still interacting. Section 110 has a second component, the "Teach Act," which is a very narrowly written law with provisions of what you can post online where you're sharing digital content through a delimited network. But even more important than Section 110 rules is a deep understanding of Fair Use.
