A major in-the-moment life experience happened for me in July 2003 as I sat in the midst of nineteen teacher-writers as you welcomed us to our Invitational Summer Institute. Since that day, nine-and-a-half years ago, I have an in-the-moment experience each time I leave the world on its own and immerse myself in my writing. Moments turn to minutes and sometimes hours, as I grow, become, and heal through the act of writing.
