Another participant summed things up, "I liked the passion that everyone has about writing. I wanted to be in a place where everyone likes writing. That is what I found in Young Writer's Camp."

As an affiliated site of the National Writing Project (NWP) and the California Writing Project (CWP), SCWriP seeks to transform the teaching of writing and literacy and strives to be a model of professional learning, teacher leadership, and reform. The program does this by working with teachers, schools, districts, students, and families. SCWriP is housed in the Gevritz School at UC Santa Barbara.
