Vision and Voice: Mentor Texts from The Best Teen Writing

Summary: Listeners to this show will hear great examples of writing from The Best Teen Writing, a collection of stories, essays, and poems written by teen authors awarded medals in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. We also feature teachers discussing a new online community, Vision and Voice

Seeing the kind of reaction that they have, that their writing is something that could go in a book. And it doesn't have to wait ten years; you could actually get it published now if you really work on it. It really is helpful as a writer for them to see. I think it's inspirational. When they look at the writing, some of it is really amazing and they can connect with it on a personal level."
