Excerpt from Show

Virginia Mahlane from Gauteng Province, South Africa on what she learned during her time with the San Antonia Writing Project , and what she will be taking back with her to her district:

If there's one thing that I'm going to take back to my school, as well as my district, it's the fact that we should use digital tools in classes. Not just writing, as well as reading and even language conventions. We should stop forcing children to keep their phones home. We must bring those cell phones into the classroom and use them to ensure that learning takes place! If we really keep technology out of the classroom, we are saying that these children should rather enjoy social networking and hate the traditional way of teaching that we bombard them with."
