Future Ready Schools: Preparing Students for Success

Date: January 29, 2015

Summary: The National Writing Project is a member of the Future Ready Schools coalition, led by the Alliance for Excellent Education and the U.S. Department of Education. Future Ready is an effort to maximize digital learning opportunities and help school districts move quickly toward preparing students for success in college, a career, and citizenship.

What Does Future Ready Mean?

Future Ready is a free, bold new effort to maximize digital learning opportunities and help school districts move quickly toward preparing students for success in college, a career, and citizenship. The effort provides districts with resources and support to ensure that local technology and digital learning plans align with instructional best practices, are implemented by highly trained teachers, and lead to personalized learning experiences for all students, particularly those from traditionally under-served communities.

Take the Pledge

District superintendents who sign the pledge will be eligible to attend one of the free Future Ready Regional Summits. View the 1,300+ Superintendents who have taken the pledge so far at http://futurereadyschools.org .

Regional Summits

At the center of the Future Ready effort is a series of regional summits where district teams will develop action plans and metrics to measure their progress in using digital tools to improve teaching and student learning outcomes. The summits will focus on a comprehensive set of issues that drive student learning, will highlight the experiences of districts in each region, and will offer district leaders tangible ways to build capacity among their teams and throughout their districts. Register at http://futurereadyschools.org

Can't Attend a Summit?

Regardless of attendance at a summit, the Future Ready Leadership Network will provide free, ongoing support to any district who takes the Future Ready Pledge.
