Excerpt from Show

Tom Gage, Chair of the Gulen Youth Platform:

How can we leverage the mundane standards we are required to teach to befit our students' better selves and higher longings? [The second question is] How can we recenter our overall vision of the universe of discourse on I/Thou dialogue rather than on the sheer I/It mastery of knowledge and skills? And it seems to me, that the medium is the message. The medium of testing forces deterministically, the teacher to shape the message to the students through these tests."
