#whyiwrite: Get Ready for the 2015 National Day on Writing with Members of NWP's Writers Council

Date: October 8, 2015

Summary: In this episode, we set the mood for the 2015 National Day on Writing (NDOW) by talking to members of our Writers Council about their current projects, their writing process, and what inspires them to keep writing.

Excerpt from Show

Renee Watson —educator, author, member of NWP Writers Council—responds to the National Day on Writing theme, "Why I Write":

I write because I think young people need mirrors and windows. They need mirrors to see themselves—specially young people of color—for them to have stories that break stereotypes. Windows are there for young people to see into others—for them to have conversations of the world."
