Building New Pathways to Leadership
Date: January 28, 2016
Summary: Three site leaders talk to Tanya Baker, NWP Director of National Programs, about what leadership looks like in our network and how the creation of new pathways in would serve more teachers and expand leadership opportunities.
Excerpt from Show
Sarah Baker —Director, Northern Virginia Writing Project:
The recent NWP retreat really brought home for me the power of invitation, especially to those whom we don't think of as 'traditional' writing project leaders, and that includes students, maybe parents and other community members. We are a strong site but we can always be stronger, so currently we're working on setting up a visioning retreat to lay down what 'stronger' will look like or, in Elyse's words, how to 'blow the lid off.'
