From her years as a teacher in high school, Christensen collected many stories of her students and gained hands on experience in approaching the delicate issues of social justice in the classroom, according to WSU's department of English Visiting Scholars Series website.

'This is great for students to see someone who's taking theoretical stuff and making it practical in the classroom," said Ashley Boyd, assistant professor of English education.' "
